Summit craters of Etna

Meeting and departure from the Ashàra info point located at the Rifugio Sapienza Etna Sud.

After a short briefing, where the equipment will be provided, the excursion will begin which will lead us to the top at an altitude of 3300mt.
With the help of the cable car lifts and 4×4 unimog we will quickly gain altitude up to 2900m, near Torre del Filosofo and from here we will begin a trek entirely on foot of about 2 hours, making 2-3 intermediate breaks to enjoy the view, up to the summit craters.

We will travel through the lunar-like lava fields that will lead us under the summit craters.
With one last challenging climb we will reach the summit of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe where we could admire the peculiarities that characterize the summit area.

We will carry out the descent on foot through sandbanks, we will visit other craters of different historical periods and we will cross a lava flow channel.

We will walk back to the upper station of the cable car which will take us back to the starting point.
